Oregon: Day 6

Day 6 took me and the fam to Haystack Rock at the lowest tide of the year(roughly 7:30 am). I do not like anything before 8 am...so lets just say I sacrificed, especially because I was on vacation. In getting to Haystack Rock, however, I was glad that I had woken up. The creatures of the sea were at my fingertips!
Starfish front:
Starfish back:
Something cool and seashell-y and squelchy:
I loved that the starfish were EVERYWHERE!
Look at this rock just absolutely covered with starfish:
Cool sea snails:
Sea anemone will open up underwater....
...but when the water recedes, they close up. Shy little creatures.
Here is a saggy anemone (probably a senior citizen anemone):
More starfish because I can't seem to get enough of them:
More open anemones:
A crab:
Something cool:
Yet another starfish. Technically they are called Sea Stars...but when have I ever banked on technicalities? I always thought starfish would be soft and squishy but these were anything but! They were hard and coarse to the touch, which threw me for a loop.
This is called a Sunburst Sea Star and it was the first one that had been seen on this beach for years. How lucky were we?! (This one happened to be soft and squishy)
A cool thing. I honestly have no idea what this is, I just snap the pictures

And last but not least, look at this cool thing I found. Don't quite know what it is, but it rocks my world!

Oregon: Days 4 and 5

Day 4 was basically the same as day 3 so I decided to skip over and move on to day 5 which included....
Shopping! In downtown Cannon Beach. Quaint little shops:
I found my favorite candy bar ever in the world. When I went to London last year I happened upon this little gem. Since then I have not been able to find them anywhere!
You can only get this in a few select places here in the States. I had been having horrible withdrawals until I found it. But it also cost $1.49 as you can clearly see. The good news is: the expiration date on the package had already passed so....I got them half off. I bought 5. You know the saying: if 1 Aero Mint bar is good, 5 are better!

Mom and Lys in a cute little courtyard:
After a long day of shopping we decided on pizza for dinner. It was delicious!

Stay tuned for day 6, it is gonna be spectacular!

Oregon: Day 3

Finally! A beach!
Might I introduce you to Haystack Rock? It is the big rock on the right side of the picture...

Oregon: Day 2

Day 2 was boring. Like almost unbearable until we stopped at this loverly waterfall. It is Multnomah Falls. It was gorgeous!
Moss everywhere! Perfect for a good picture

That was the highlight of day 2. A 40 minute detour to a waterfall. Any questions?

Oregon

Vacation is a wonderful thing! My family and I just got back from a week on the Oregon coast. Cannon Beach to be exact. The cutest, quaintest (is that a word?) little village there ever was. Let us start on day 1.
Long car ride:
Lots of trains, lots of graffiti. Graffiti is my favorite thing. If you would like I could show you all my graffiti pictures. I have like a million.
A bridge:
Hotel beds. One hotel room, six people. No space.

The good news is that there was a pool at the hotel so...all was forgiven.

Happy 4th!

Yesterday my friend Emily called me last minute to go to Stadium of Fire with Carrie Underwood. Heck yes!
Me and my new best friend John:
Carrie belting out a song as she is wont to do:
These awesome shots of fireworks I took:

If you feel so inclined, here is the Fly Over (it is always my favorite part of Stadium of Fire)

And here, if you continue to feel inclined, is Carrie Underwood singing All American Girl

Boogie Boarding

For the first time in my life, I went boogie boarding when I went to CA. It was a blast! What was not a blast was cutting up my knees, legs, and feet on the little rocks. Ouch in salt water!
This is Kate showing off her magazine-model looks. What think ye?
