I flew the coop. Hopped the fence. Left the nest. Moved out. Again. I am an independent woman now. I cook for myself and do my own laundry. This time I brought a towel. I wasn't about to relive this.
I have roommates. Lots of them. I live in a house-house, not an apartment, not a condo, not a townhouse. And I love it!
I am taking classes, working two jobs, doing that "college life" thing.
I forgot to pay a bill before I partied it up in the land of Disney. So I bought a planner. Gone are the days where I forget to pay my bills.
In other news: I faced my fears and dealt with the majority of my Disneyland pictures. Here we go with World of Color:

This was the best Thanksgiving I could have asked for! In the past my sisters/cousins and I would go over to the grandparent's house and have a big breakfast and spend the whole day over there. I have had this blog for a long time and I don't think I ever really introduced myself so I figured now was as good a time as any. Here we go.
I am Jenna. I have 4 sisters, a brother-in-law (but I just consider him a brother), a nephew (I shall call him Squishy and he shall be my Squishy), a mother, a father, some friends, no pets.
I live in the US of A. I love the US of A, I pretty much pledged allegiance to it.
I work two jobs, go to one school.
I believe in working hard and playing hard.
I have an affinity for cute things. Ask anyone that really knows me. I google cute baby animals.
I like to think I am crafty but there isn't much truth to that thought.
I am not messy. I am cluttery.
I love frozen yogurt. A lot. I also love: food in general.
Interesting facts: I have been to Ghana and London. Love and plan on going back to both. Another interesting fact: One time I wondered if I could perfectly time taking a picture of myself sneezing. I did. It makes me laugh so hard I cry. But I will NOT share that photo on this blog. Find me and I will show you.
Things I like to do: photography, paint things (anything), read, organize, apply make up, bake (oh how I love to bake!), play with nephew, listen to music, play with friends, sing
Things I wish for: the ability to sew, endless money, stronger self-control, an Aston Martin (any one will do), a Kitchen Aid, longer hair (ridiculous, right?)
What I have to offer: I am really nice. I will let you play with my hair. I will tell you when there is something in your teeth. I will let you vent to me. My car's heater heats up like nobody's business. I make a mean cookie. I have a great memory, you will think I hang on your every word (and I do of course).
My drawbacks: I am sarcastic (probably to a fault). Sometimes I get tunnel vision when I have lost something or am frustrated about something, just ask Lys about finding car keys Sunday morning. I don't really handle raw meat. Gross. I go gaga for trendy colors and buy everything in that color. I have: at least 10 articles of clothing that coral/rose color. I have a great memory, you will think I am a creep. I will remember your cousin's bff's cute brother's name. Then I will meet him in real life and pretend to know nothing about him. Creepy? I think so.
What I listen to: everything. But Sara Bareilles' CD Kaleidoscope Heart is the best ever. Buy it! I like Adele, Akon, Blue October, Brooke Fraser, David Guetta, Phil Collins, the Josh's Groban, Gracin, and Turner, Justin Bieber, Norah Jones, and Lifehouse to name a few.

We are over halfway through October...and my nerves are shot. Jk...but really, nothing has scared me quite like The Grudge so that is good news.
However, I literally screamed during Halloween. I was utterly humiliated.

It is currently the month of October. To me that means pretty colors, fantastic weather, birthday celebrations, and fall break. To others it means: scary movies. Somehow I have been sucked into the "others" ideas. A good half of any given scary movie is spent with my head under the blanket with only one eye barely peeking out enough to get the gist of what is going on. These are my predictions for the month of October:
1. My blood pressure will increase
2. My sleep quality (and amount) will decrease
3. My "scare factor" will considerably increase
Sidenote: I have already seen this one take place. Today I was walking on campus when a friend snuck up behind me and yelled BOO! I almost punched him. I'd keep a safe distance from me if I were you.
4. My nervous habits will become more pronounced
5. My ability to be alone in my house will vanish
6. Walking to my car in the dark will become an almost unconquerable feat
7. Zombies/ghosts/crazy people/anything remotely scary will take over the world
8. I will spend an abnormal amount of time thinking about how to escape any given room
So...to start of the month of happiness/misery (depending on which side you are on), we have watched:

The Grudge. Scariest movie I have seen to date.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Don't chainsaws make such a sweet noise?

NOT scary. But interesting.

A Great Start

This was the first week of school for me. It was fun to be back in school and all that jazz. Here is a back-to-school story that will blow your back-to-school story out of the water. I promise.
You may or may not know that I have been trying to lose weight. It is working. So well in fact, that today I had a problem because of it. I decided to wear a skirt to school today. Not a life-altering choice. Well, I had to walk up a lot of stairs to get to my early class so I walked up the stairs. About half way through my stair-trudging, my underwear fell off. Literally. They slipped off of my (decreasing in size) bum and were headed to the ground. I caught them mid-thigh. But THAT was awkward to watch, I'm sure.
"You'll never believe what I saw today!"
"Yeah? What?"
"This girl was walking up the stairs in front of me and all of the sudden she dropped everything and grabbed her thighs like her legs were falling off!"
See what I mean?
Well, for the rest of the walk I had to keep one arm on my stuff and one arm concealed behind my bag holding my underwear up. It didn't work out so well. Somehow my underwear bunched up and settled right at the top of my thigh (but completely off my bum) and just decided to hang out there. So I went commando-esque for the rest of the morning.

It was a rough morning.

I work with "behaviorally challenged" children. That includes children with anger problems, autistic children, children in broken homes, children with abusive pasts, etc. You name it, I've worked with it. It is some of the most fun I have ever had. It involves a lot of playing with toys, reading good books, nap time, jamming to good music in a 15 passenger van, eating tasty snacks, making cool craft projects, going cool places like Kennecott Copper Mine, playing at the park, playing chair soccer and war ball and capture the flag and lightning and four square, and playing N64. It also involves learning ethics and morals and choosing between right and wrong. In learning these things, kids come up with some really great quotes. Here are a few of my favorites:
Me: "Why did you choose not to steal last time you went to the store?"
Child: "Well, because my pants didn't have any pockets!"

Me: "When do you lie" (expecting an answer like "when I don't want to get in trouble")
Child: "When I get the chance"

Staff: "What is the moral of The Boy Who Cried Wolf?"
Child: "If you say something too much it can come true."

Staff: "Why are you crying?"
Child: "Cuz I have a tender heart!"

Child: "Green means go, Red means stop, Yellow means last chance."

Child describing a Gigapet: "You know, the chain with the animal inside it?"

Me: "What are you doing?"
Child: "Playing with a dead beetle."
Me: "Oh can i see it?"
Child: "Well i already tore his head off..."

Staff: "Today for activity we are having an unbirthday party!"

My blog has been so many pictures and so few words. The last serious words I posted were these words. It was my most viewed blog post ever so I figured maybe people like my words more than I realize. Or maybe it just made for a good story. Either way, here are more of my words.

Sometimes life doesn't go according to plan. In fact, life rarely goes according to plan. I can wholeheartedly attest to this.
Let's start at the very beginning. It is a very good place to start. I applied to the UVU Nursing Program for the Fall of 2009. I didn't get in. Then this past December I lost my job. Because I lost my job I decided to take a semester off and just focus on finding a job to work and earn money for the Fall semester. I was lucky to find two great new jobs. A few days after starting both of my jobs, my Grandpa passed away and I had to take a couple days off for funeral/family stuff. Within a short time of my Grampie's passing, my Gram's health started failing and I moved in with her to help her. Between helping her at night, taking care of my nephew in the mornings, and working in the day I was averaging about 4 hours of sleep a night for about 2 weeks. Gram died a month after Gramp and I had to take more time off of work for more funeral/family stuff.
A few weeks after all of that happened I was talking to my mom about life and how nothing goes as planned. If my life had gone according to my plan, I would have been in the hardest semester of nursing school while I had been living with Gram and taking care of Baby Em. I would have had to miss lots of school and I would have been sleep deprived and emotionally unstable for whatever school I did make it to. I would have had to pay for nursing school without having a job (which could have meant taking out some nasty loans). I would probably have been unable to help out with Gram or Em as much leaving a lot to my mom.
But life didn't go how I wanted. I didn't get into the program. I lost my source of income. People died, babies were born, life went on and I STILL LIVED. I got myself together, put trust in the Lord, and carried on. Now I feel like I am on the right path headed to where I should be. I don't have complete and perfect faith yet...if I did, I'd never worry again. But I now know for a fact that things happen for a reason. There is no doubt in my mind that I am being taken care of (even if I have a hard time accepting the help).
So my current life plan: accept where life takes me. It works better that way. Now if only I could feel that way about finding the perfect man...

My Last Will and Testament

Not to be morbid, but it needed done. I have a lot of stuff and it needs to go to someone. However, I don't think that I can give everything away on this here blog so I think the most simple solution to that problem is to build a pyramid in the backyard and just put the rest of my stuff in my pyramid with me (pyramids make a great conversation piece and a great jungle gym). I'll not have any qualms about this. So without further ado...
To:
Dad: I leave my nice camera. If I look down from Heaven and I see you taking pictures of worthless things, I'll haunt you. You can also have your film camera back. Thanks for letting me borrow it for the foreseeable future?
Mom: My bedspread and matching pillows. Love them, cherish them. You also get my super cute apron and my watches.
Bri: My perfumes. Use them wisely. You can also have my children's books.
Will: You get my Canasta Caliente and my all my medical stuffs.
Alyssa: My music collection. I think that is the only reason you tolerate me. And just because I am in a good mood, you also get any purses you want.
Mariah: You and mom get joint custody of my jewelry. You also get my seasons of Psych.
Mattea: My nail polish. You are welcome. You also get my little point-and-shoot camera that I can't find right now. If I die and you find it, it is yours.
Joe: My seasons of House. You are welcome to them as soon as you get home from a mission.
Kate: My new sandals that I got. The green ones. You love green. Also: my supply of Salsa (Pace brand...YUM.)
Emily: You get all my crafty stuff.
Emerson: You have a weird fascination with the vintage fruitcake tin I have. It is all yours when I die. Enjoy, but don't get lead poisoning, k?
Cara: You get my Ghana souvenirs...because you don't have enough already.
Wade girls: my music boxes from Gram. I have two, but you can work out a rotation schedule
Colton and Jen: my kitchen stuff
Corrinne: My button collection
Heather: my Magic Bullet. I haven't even used it yet!
Michelle: my super cool pillowcases from the 80's that I haven't finished cross-stitching
Florence: all my blankets. Make a nice fort.
My shoes go to whoever they will fit. I just got some new cuties too, so enjoy those.

I think I just about gave everything of value away. My bank account will be spent on fresh flowers for my grave for the rest of my life (that is going to take some SERIOUS budgeting). The rest of my stuff is up for grabs. Or burn it. Or send it to DI or Savers cuz that is where I got most of it anyway. There will be no fighting about my stuff. I have nothing worth fighting about. There will be no trading of my stuff. I gave you what I gave you for a reason. If you don't know that reason, you clearly aren't as good of a friend as I thought you were. I will also not tolerate any preemptive strikes on my life. If you try to kill me so you can get your item even faster, I will see to it that you die along with me. On that happy note, enjoy your new items if I die!

Oh What a Night

I went to the local carnival on Friday night. I think I almost died several times over. I went on the ride that is known as the Zipper. It does this. Find the spinniest car and times it by 6. That was my car. I had the headache of all headaches after that ride! But the real story about the Zipper is while I was in line to get on the ride. My friends and I were standing there minding our own business when something whizzed by my head....it was just someone's POCKET KNIFE!! It had flown out of someone's pocket while they were riding the Zipper and the blade had opened and almost stabbed me in the head. Talk about negligent homicide! They wouldn't have even known they killed me!
Fast forward to the Scrambler and we'll go from there. My friend and I sat in a seat together and I happened to not put my hair in a ponytail that day so...as we flew towards the ride operator my hair was all in my face. And then we flew away from the ride operator. And my hair whipped him in the face. Sorry guy, don't sit so close next time!
And last, but certainly not least, the Gravitron! It is a fun, fun ride and you basically fly up to the ceiling. That is, unless you have really long hair and happen to be laying on it. When that is the case, everybody around you flies up to the ceiling and you just get your airways cut off because your body wants to fly up to the ceiling but your head has to stay put because your hair is trapped behind your back. It is a rather difficult situation. I don't recommend it one bit.
The carnival was a rough night for me. However, it was quite fun and I haven't laughed that hard in awhile. I would go again...but just with my hair up in a bun and a helmet on my head. Ya know, for safety's sake.

The Best and The Regrets

Warning: emotional post ahead. Steer clear if you are PMS.
Some of my sweetest and most precious memories of my Grammie are from right before she passed away. Right after my grandpa passed away my grandma's health started declining. I moved some of my things over there and started living with her so I could help her with whatever she needed. It started out with just helping clean or organize my grandpa's stuff, but eventually it turned into helping her with everything. Her legs stopped working and she needed help walking so each night I would wake her up a couple of times and take her to the bathroom. After I got her settled back in bed I would scratch her back and we would talk for a little bit until she fell back asleep. I think my favorite memory was one night when I was scratching her back and she turned her head to me and said, "You are such an angel. You are my angel." Having someone like that call you an angel is (I think) the absolute highest compliment you can receive.
I remember one night she woke up because she had a dream that a stranger was in her bed. When she opened her eyes, she didn't realize that the someone in her bed was me so she tried to sneak out of bed. She tripped and fell and gave me the scare of my life. Literally. My heart pounded long after she got settled back in bed. Do you know how hard it is to fall asleep adrenaline pumping through your system??
Staying with her, I watched her health continue to decline. She was eventually bedridden so we would lay there and talk until she was too tired to keep talking. I would read a book and she would sleep. Eventually, someone came and took over for me. My mom and my aunt stayed with her, my grandma's sisters came to stay with her, and friends and neighbors were always wanting to stop by and say hi. Before I went to work everyday I would try and stop in and see how my little patient was doing.
Each day she became more tired and each day I became more and more emotionally unstable (because I wasn't already). On Saturday, February 19th, I went to work without stopping by in the morning. Towards the end of my shift I received a text that said she had passed away. I lost it right then and there at work. I'm sure that was a sight to behold. I raced home to be with my family (95 mph down the freeway- no joke). The second I walked in the door my mom took me in her arms and she just let me cry. And believe me when I say I cried!
Not being with my grandma at her passing is the biggest regret of my life, but my most cherished memories are of the weeks prior to her death. We shared some of the best moments together and we had a few good laughs. That woman was a hoot! My favorite Grammie quote is thusly:
Me: "Gram, what do you think of when I say Top Gun?"
Gram: "My dreamboat Tom Cruise"
I know that I will see her again someday and I cannot wait for that day. Until then I have memories to tide me over. I love my Grammie and Grampie and while they are both gone from this earth, I would be willing to bet that they are up in Heaven discussing (read: plotting) their next move. Love and miss them both!

Hangin' Out

Poison of the Food Variety

It all started Friday night when I ate at a local restaurant. All was well- it tasted great. On Saturday I went to work. I started feeling crampy around noon and but I didn't think anything of it. However- when I took my lunch break at 2:30 I felt awful. I ate lunch and then went to the bathroom. It was at that moment I realized I had a problem. After my lunch break I was still feeling ill but I went back to work like a good little worker bee. About 45 minutes later I had to make another bathroom stop. This was not going to be good. This was a highly volatile situation and I was stuck in the middle of work. I decided that in order to make it the rest of my shift I would just stand in one place and walk around as little as possible. Within the course of 3 hours I made 3 stops to the bathroom each time feeling worse than the last. At long last my shift ended!!!
Then I had dinner with a couple friends. At an Indian restaurant. Because the best thing for someone in my situation is to eat spicy Indian food. Right. I took a bathroom break during our dinner and then drove myself home. When I got home I took another bathroom break and then sat on the couch until it was time for another bathroom break. Boy was I wiped out!
Then my family came home around 9:30. I said hello, that I didn't feel well, and that I was going to bed right then. My mom really knew I wasn't feeling good because of that. Me in bed at 9:30 on a Friday? Hasn't happened since I was 9. Anyway, I went downstairs, got ready for bed, took yet another bathroom break and went to bed.
I woke up Sunday morning early, early, early for you guessed it- another bathroom break! and then I went back to bed. Then woke up again and did the same. Repeat that 6 times and you have my morning. I called in sick to work because I just didn't think that myself or the other bathroom users would appreciate me being there. I didn't eat anything cuz I was NOT adding fuel to that fire! I just laid in bed for a lot of the day trying not to rock the boat.
I am feeling much better now thank you- but my stomach is still a little shy and I won't be eating at that particular restaurant for awhile.
So now you know: if you tried to talk to me this weekend and I was cranky it is because I had other things on my mind.

I was on the computer late one night when all of the sudden a pair of sock fell from nowhere and landed on the keyboard. It scared me half to death. I looked up to see where they could possibly have come from and lo and behold...the cat was being high and mighty. We played toss for a minute with fluff balls and socks. It was fun I guess.

He doesn't like the camera flash in case you can't tell.

A Problem

One time I went to Ghana and I took my own little travel pillow. When I got home, it was so beat up that I threw it away [read: my mom made me throw it away]. So there I was pillowless and heartbroken. Then my dear, sweet sister Rye said I could use a pillow she had made in her sewing class. It was a lot smaller than my other one, but I made it work. Fast forward several months and my mom comes home one day with a new pillow. It is bigger than my first one, but it is officially mine and I love it. So to summarize: I went from medium/perfect pillow to way too small to too big. Shall we take a look??

2010: A Quick Review

Starting in January, I moved out
To Provo I went without a doubt.
Forging my way, I was a new gal
But forgot my towels (which lowered morale).
It took a few days to get confidence back
But it quickly returned and I was on track!
It was all fun and games 'til the deer incident
Where he hit my car leaving a fairly small dent
March brought some tears but also brought color

April brought broken beds, but finals were over!
May was more "blah" than I care to discuss
June took me all over but not on a bus.
Down to Disney I drove with some friends through Sin City,
Gambling wasn't for us (for it made us feel gritty).
July was a powerhouse out on the coast
"Clam chowder and taffy" cold Oregon did boast.
While the water was frigid and icy to feel
The food was delicious and the sea stars were real!
Before we came home from our trip with our loot
We went to a cheese place and a lighthouse to boot.
August came and it went, but I never forgot
my encounters with death and the spiders they brought!

September was nice but more boring than most,
So we'll skip to October so that I can boast
Of the pictures I took of my family so fine,
And the hat I received for the birthday that's mine.

To November we'll fly but there ain't much to see
'Cept my nasty old sweater that is SO scratchy.
December was average 'til late one cold night
A baby named Emerson stole the spotlight.
He entered this world with a stretch and a cry
Now he sleeps all the time, no one sees his blue eyes.

2010 was a great year- I'd say the best yet

Well- it happened. The "economic downturn" finally hit me. I thought I was above it all but as it turns out, I'm not. My place of employment finally closed its doors...and put me out of a job. I moped and pouted for several hours. I stressed, I cried. Basically I had a whole lot of emotions in a small amount of time. Then I got my act together, applied for 3.7 million jobs, studied for and took a quiz, painted my nails, cried again, and moved on. I also ate a bagel with strawberry cream cheese (and that always raises my spirits). On a lighter note- yes. I really did wear this out in public. Sue me.

Why I Avoid Kohl's

Kohl's Has a Death Grip on My Wallet. I make rash decisions at Kohl's. Somehow I manage to contain myself at other places (the mall, Target, the Wal-Marts, Macey's Grocery Store, ebay.com). Kohl's, however, has some weird pull that I can't escape. My logic: If the sale ends tomorrow I have to buy it now because it might be gone the next time I come back..or worse: more expensive. If I don't like it I can bring it back but right now is not the time to make that decision. Right now is the time to buy.

Once upon a time I went to London and saw Lion King on Broadway. I fell in love with it. A year later I went to Vegas with some friends and made them see it there. After the play we went in the gift shop and I fell in love with a Lion King hat. I debated getting it but decided not to because it was more money than I wanted to spend. After we left Vegas I decided that I did in fact want the hat (sometime's I'm a little slow to make up my mind...but once I get there, there is no going back). Therein lay the dilemma. I wanted something I couldn't get without going back to Vegas. I looked online for a good long while and I never found it. Ebay failed me, Google searches failed me, Amazon.com failed me....even Disney.com failed me. Then a miracle occurred: my birthday.

This is probably part 1 of many. I sin a lot.

Once upon a time in the summer of 2010 there was a girl named Jenna. Each week she mowed the lawn for $10. Included in mowing the lawn was picking up the pine cones that had fallen all over the ground and throwing them away. This was Jenna's least favorite part about mowing. What many people don't know about Jenna is that she has a bright mind and a quick wit. With these two talents in hand, she quickly realized that if she threw the pine cones into the bush she wouldn't have to walk all the way over to the trash with said pine cones. The plan was brilliant and was pulled off perfectly. Each week she simply took the 5 or 6 detestable pine cones and threw them into the bush never to be found.

Then one day she came home from work and found that the hiding bush had been removed. Someone had taken the beloved bush and thrown it away. All that was left was some dirt. and some pine needles. and lots, and lots of pine cones. Oops. Jenna had been found out!

So now with my sins clearly visible for all to see...I confess. I did it. I'm not sorry I did it. I'd probably do it again if given the chance. In fact, I know I would.

Part the First

I had an unfortunate encounter with a spider. I had to make a card for my old roommate's wedding. I got out some patterned paper and started working. I looked up when something caught my eye. A spider ready to pounce and eat my face off. Well I wasn't about to have any of that! So I took a conveniently located plastic container with a lid and flicked the spider into it and shut the lid. No sooner had I done this than the spider started convulsing. I was the very definition of disgustingly fascinated. I had a lot to do that night...instead I spent the next 45 minutes watching this spider molt. You read correctly. The bugger shamelessly molted right in front of me. All 8 of his nasty legs gathered together in the air and then he slowly and gruesomely shed his old skin. There are no words to even describe this. Google a video of it or something. I refuse to watch it again so I'm not going to do that work for you. After 45 minutes of watching I left for my roommate's reception. When I got back later that night my spider had finally made it out of his old skin. He wasn't a whole spider anymore though. He had lost two of his legs to his old skin and now was merely a 6-legged freak. I flushed him down the toilet regardless of his leg count...goodness knows if I can't learn to love an 8-legged freak I could never learn to love a 6-legged one.

That last thought was a joke. I will never love a spider no matter how many legs he has.

Part the Second

3 days later I took a bathroom break at work. Somehow the toilet paper got rolled in on itself so I had to wrap it back up to get it out. When the last square of paper finally rolled properly...a living, breathing spider came with it. Ready to eat my face off. They tend to do that you know. I was utterly exposed and in one of the most vulnerable positions ever. I may have squealed a little bit. Then I came to my senses and grabbed a wad of toilet paper and smashed him. Please don't hate me for killing a spider. I normally don't. I make other people do it. Anyway, he died, my near-death experience was averted, and I was able to get back to work with my face fully intact.

The white pair and the red pair are mine. I own them. The three black pair could belong to anybody who has ever ridden in my car. There is a 4th pair that were in the car when I bought it. I don't know why but lonely pairs of sunglasses are attracted to me.

If anybody needs a new pair of sunglasses just let me know! I've got a couple I'm willing to give away...

A Story

I don't even know where to begin. A fair warning: this story has no end. In fact, I fear it has many more tragic chapters. Here are chapters 1 and 2.

Chapter 1-

There is only one place to start, and that is at the beginning. However, I don't quite know where the beginning is. So lets just say the beginning was when I was born.

Clothes have never been my thing. I like feeling free and unrestricted. Clothes do not allow this to happen. So: whenever the opportunity to be unrestricted arises I seize it. This does not mean I get naked. Lets not be vulgar. This means I wear a sun dress or a pair of loose pajama pants and a tank top.

We will start on a Sunday. I was getting ready for church. I put a slip on but decided to leave my skirt off until right before I walked out the door. Bad idea. I finished getting ready for church, but by this time I was running late. I ran into my room, threw on my shirt and shoes, grabbed my purse and ran out the door. I got across the street and past the neighbor's house before I realized how breezy it was. I looked down to see myself in: a slip. I totally spaced putting on my skirt. Slips do NOT replace skirts. You can often see through a slip. Yup, I could see right through it. I bolted (faster than I've ever bolted) back to the house and put on my skirt. You are probably wondering how I could forget something as important as the bottom half of my outfit. My answer is this: I have no idea.

Chapter 2 (this one is a doozy!)-

This chapter does not include one specific incident. It includes several, unfortunately. One time about a year ago I was getting ready for class one morning. I threw on my favorite shirt and headed off to class. Class was fine. The class after that was fine, too. After my second class I was done with school for the day. I headed out the door that led to where my car was parked. I headed down the stairs only to stop mid-stair and realize I had forgotten to put my bra on that morning. I quickly folded my arms in utter humiliation and smoothly made my way to my car. The End.

Except for this happens all the time. I've called my mom from work asking her to bring me a bra. Not a joke.

I average once a week of putting my shirt on before I realize I need a bra. Sorry world, that's just the way I roll.

Day 6 took me and the fam to Haystack Rock at the lowest tide of the year(roughly 7:30 am). I do not like anything before 8 am...so lets just say I sacrificed, especially because I was on vacation. In getting to Haystack Rock, however, I was glad that I had woken up. The creatures of the sea were at my fingertips!

Yet another starfish. Technically they are called Sea Stars...but when have I ever banked on technicalities? I always thought starfish would be soft and squishy but these were anything but! They were hard and coarse to the touch, which threw me for a loop.

This is called a Sunburst Sea Star and it was the first one that had been seen on this beach for years. How lucky were we?! (This one happened to be soft and squishy)

Oregon: Days 4 and 5

Shopping! In downtown Cannon Beach. Quaint little shops:

I found my favorite candy bar ever in the world. When I went to London last year I happened upon this little gem. Since then I have not been able to find them anywhere!

You can only get this in a few select places here in the States. I had been having horrible withdrawals until I found it. But it also cost $1.49 as you can clearly see. The good news is: the expiration date on the package had already passed so....I got them half off. I bought 5. You know the saying: if 1 Aero Mint bar is good, 5 are better!

Vacation is a wonderful thing! My family and I just got back from a week on the Oregon coast. Cannon Beach to be exact. The cutest, quaintest (is that a word?) little village there ever was. Let us start on day 1.

While in Vegas I had to go see Lion King for the second time. What can I say? I know what I like!

Eating dinner at the Blue Bayou in Disneyland. I was expecting expensive...but I paid $35 for a mediocre piece of salmon. But the view made up for it. The restaurant is situated inside the Pirates of the Caribbean ride so it was fantastic.

This Ferris wheel is the scariest ride I went on. We went in a "swinging" gondola. I don't suggest it...I was holding on for dear life.

I was doing my hair. I went to grab an elastic for my hair and there was a can of hairspray in the way. The lid was on so I picked it up by the lid and moved it over to the other side of the counter, but the can fell and all I had was the lid in my hand. I heard it spraying so I assumed that the spritzer had been bent. I bent over to fix it when to my horror i realized the little white thing wasn't even on the can!!! When the can fell, the white thing had fallen off and the metal had bent. There was hairspray spraying (like a FIRE HOSE) everywhere and there was no way to stop it. Hairspray was dripping down my legs and my toes were sticking to the carpet. I put my finger over the hole and it stopped spraying. Wonderful. I had only to bend the metal back and all would be well. I put the corner of my roommate's towel on the hole and tried to bend it back into place. It didn't work. Now my roommate's towel was soaked (but at least it smelled good). I, in my clear thinking, tried another towel. Same result.

Then my phone rang. The conversation went something like this:

Me: "WHAT?"

Them: Uh...I was just wondering if you could...

Me: Can I call you back in a minute? Thanks bye.

Them: (I don't actually know what they said. I hung up on them)

I threw the phone down because let me tell you- that hairspray was soon to take over the world! I was in crisis mode!

Someone knocked on the door. Great...STOP BOTHERING ME PEOPLE! I ran and put a shirt on (I only had a camisole on cuz I was changing my clothes). I answered the door.

Hello Robert- thank you for returning Deba's movie at the worst part of my day. No need to inform you (I think you can already tell), you are adding to my stress. Goodbye now. Leave.

I didn't know what to do and by this point I was running late to work so I turned on the water and put the can in the sink. The water helped, but the sink was getting sticky. I finished up my hair and changed my clothes while the can sat and the water ran. After I had all my stuff together I went to the sink and planned my escape. I put the cap back on the can and walked out my door. I could here the spray coming out and spraying in the lid, but it wasn't leaking out so I didn't care. I got about 5 steps out my door when hair spray started spraying out the little hole in the lid. It was like water from a pressurized fountain. I started running. I had to make it to the dumpster before the lid burst off. As I was running some girl walked past me and I am sure I was a sight to see! I put my finger over the hole in the lid and just kept running. There was no time to explain, my arm was dripping with hairspray at this point. I reeked of hairspray!

I bolted to the dumpster, threw the can inside..and calmly walked away. Side note: Ya know how in the movie Jumanji the kids throw the game in the river and pretend like nothing happened? I did that with, only with a can of hairspray.

I don't know who the hairspray belonged to....but I didn't replace it. I'm just that cheap. Sorry roomie!

Long Overdue

I haven't blogged for awhile so I have a lot to get through in a relatively short amount of time.
First, look at this tasty cupcake I made. Its s'more with marshmallow frosting on top.

Second, look at this bruise on my foot. Volleyball is brutal. And also: feel free to not observe how veiny my feet are. Nasty little buggers

Third (and most important), happy belated anniversary parents! Time for a photo shoot.

My Pobre Bed

My bed died. In the middle of the night. It used to stand on cinder blocks like this:

It doesn't do that anymore. Well, half of it does and half of it does not. It slid off its cinder blocks in the dead of the night. Pretty much woke up the entire building. It caused quite the ruckus! This is how it looks right now.
This is from my pillow looking towards the closet:

Pictures don't really do it justice, but it is a pretty sharp angle. Smash your chin against your sternum. Now sleep like that for 4 hours. That is what I did last night....like I said. Sharp angle.

This is the best picture to represent. Ya know how the bed should be parallel with the ground? It isn't...see?

It's that time of year again! This year was way better than last year. This year we got there early, got our colors, and waited for the count down.

I hate them. I have to wear them for choir and as soon as choir is over, I go to my car and...take off my tights. After that I unbutton my restricting button-up shirt and drive home. I hate, abhor, detest, loathe, and despise tights.

Anybody with me on this?
